Jim Straeter’s Cornrower receives Agritechnica award in Germany!

Agritechnica is by far the largest and most prestigious indoor farm equipment show on the globe and is held every two years in Hannover, Germany. At each show, the Innovation Committee awards medals to the most important and innovative inventions in agricultural machinery that have been developed in the two years since the last show.

Over 400 entries from around the globe were submitted, and a total of 37 medals (four gold, 33 silver) were awarded.  New Holland submitted the Cornrower system, patented and developed by Jim Straeter of New Holland Rochester, for an award.  The committee thought the Cornrower was important enough to award a Silver Medal at the show for the Cornrower.

Cornrower is a crowd-pleaser at Ohio Farm Science Review!

New Holland became the first major farm equipment manufacturer to introduce a new method of harvesting stover with the demonstration at the 2013 Ohio Farm Science Review.  The Cornrower mounted on a NH 99C corn head and CR7090 combine windrowed stover that was immediately round baled by a New Holland round baler, making a perfectly formed, solid round bale of moist stover that was then wrapped in plastic.  This harvest system now makes it possible for farmers to take advantage of the huge reservoir of feed that stover represents but up to now was unavailable due to lack of harvest equipment that preserved moisture and kept soil and rocks out of the stover.  Additionally, the Cornrower significantly reduces machine trips across the field, labor and equipment wear and tear as the baler can follow the combine immediately.  Contact any New Holland dealer for information on the Cornrower system of stover harvest.

The Parkview Samaritan Flight Team Endorse the NH Boomer 20!

Recently, we received a letter from the Parkview Samaritan Flight Team out of Fort Wayne, IN, showing their approval of their two recently purchased New Holland Boomer 20 tractors. They use them to pull the helicopters in and out of their hangars, and chose to go with the New Holland Boomer tractors due to their higher drift capacity over the competition. Feel free to check out their letter here:

Another Successful Field Day!

On Aug. 7 the NH Field Day held at the North Manchester Poet plant was a huge success.  Over 300 guests attended to see a broad range of New Holland equipment, hear presentations on the importance of renewable fuels, take a plant tour and hear about legislative efforts to protect the Renewable Fuels Standard.  New Holland is the only farm equipment company to support the efforts of Growth Energy and is the only Platinum Level sponsor.  Other sponsors include a variety of seed, fertilizer and chemical suppliers and end-users ranging  from Dupont and Monsanto to NASCAR.

The Indiana New Holland dealerships and support the efforts to advocate use of American-produced fuels such as ethanol.  We’re appreciative of the Poet company for their efforts and in particular, the opportunity to work with the North Manchester Poet staff headed by manager Steve Pittman.  Come in to our New Holland stores to learn about our Producer’s Club.  New Holland is making a contribution to the Growth Energy effort for every New Holland sale to a member of the club.  Farmers who buy DDG’s or sell corn to a plant that is a Growth Energy member get additional discounts and also trigger this monetary contribution.  Now that supply of corn is pressuring prices it is apparent that those companies such as New Holland that worked to protect the biofuels market had the foresight to advocate farmer’s interests when many said that the drought justified pulling the biofuels products off the market.  We’re proud to be a part of the New Holland efforts and appreciate the opportunity to partner with our customers.

Congrats Devon Clawson on your new NH CR8080 with SMARTTRAX!

Devon Clawson of Jamestown, IN is the proud owner of the new CR8080 combine  shown here equipped with New Holland’s SMARTTRAX option.  The SMARTTRAX system provides a shorter turning radius (comparable to a combine equipped with single 900X32 tires), smoother ride and about 60% less compaction than dual tires.  Putting a smart traction system under a combine with the cleanest sample gives Devon the best of the best combine performance in the neighborhood.  Congratulations to
Devon on his purchase of the CR8080 with SMARTTRAX!
